| Description: | The
Spanish for Business Program offers the possibility to introduce yourself to
the Hispanic business world. You will learn the realities of business and the
way it functions, at the same time as you continue advancing your apprehension
of Spanish. In addition, if you so choose, you will have the opportunity to
work as an intern in Spanish businesses, which will complement your curriculum,
giving you greater access to today’s labour market. The program consists of
one semester (Feb-May). The teachers
are all specialists in the material taught, and all have ample experience
in the teaching of Spanish to international students. |

|
This program is intended for students of Spanish as a foreign
language or Business with an intermediate or advanced level of the language,
who wish to deepen their knowledge of technical aspects of Spanish in the
business world.
In addition to theoretical content related to the company and the world of business, complex linguistic structures will be studied in order to facilitate the use of various registers in the production of oral and written messages. Similarly, practical exercises covering grammatical and lexical questions of Spanish will be covered, with emphasis on the specifics of the language of economics. Students start the course with a placement exam and a month-long review of Spanish grammar and conversation. Grammar and conversation continue, though with less emphasis, throughout the rest of the term while students focus on their business studies. As in the Intensive Language Program, students in the Spanish for Business Program have the opportunity to be promoted or demoted in the grammar portion of the course according to their learning needs, as reflected by monthly evaluations. Also like the Intensive Language Program, each student should be evaluated individually to receive credit for the grammar portion of the course from his/her home institution. |
